St James Lutheran College – Science/Home Economics Building & Gla Extension
After successfully completing a new Library and classrooms as a Design and Construct project in 2009/2010 PBS was invited to tender the next Stage of Buildings at the College and were successful in gaining repeat construction works with this client, Lutheran Church of Australia QLD District at the St James Lutheran College in Urraween, Hervey Bay.
The project consisted of the construction of 3 separate buildings.
A new 520m2 science and home economics building. Structure – slab on grade, face brick veneer and roof truss with sections of light weight cladding and structural awnings.
The Team also completed a 67m2 infill extension to the existing GLA building constructed on timber bearers and joists floor frame with lightweight cladded wall frames. Cladded sections were added externally to match the existing structure and an operable wall installed to compartmentalise the room.
A 120m2 prefabricated shed was also constructed including a 90m2 external undercover area set on a concrete slab on grade. External works included construction of entry paths and general landscape works.
