Engadine Aged Care Facility
The Engadine Aged Care Facility for Moran Health Care sets the standard for aged care, being purposely designed for the residents comfort and safety. The project has been carefully designed to be state of the art in terms of fire safety and security. Every area has been thoughtfully planned with fire protectors, fire sprinklers and other fire systems in place. All homes in the Engadine Aged Care Facility have their own integrated security systems for the resident’s safety.
The $31 million project consists of a ground floor Health Services Facility, 5 levels of Residential Aged Care for 142 residents and 2 levels of basement parking. The facility was built on the site of an existing Council Car Park with 45 parking spaces being handed back to Sutherland Shire Council as public parking. The newly built aged care facility now completes the second stage of the Engadine Community Facilities Project, following more than 10 years of community process and negotiations. The push behind an aged care facility in Engadine has been an important issue for the community.
The external works of the facility were planned and delivered in a way that links the facility with the adjacent community centre and extend the town square creating seamless open pedestrian thoroughfare through the centre of Engadine. Experience in the construction of aged care facilities made PBS an palpable choice for the client, Moran Health Care, one of Australia’s leading developer / operators of aged care facilities.
