Cooper Lodge Student Accommodation
The Cooper Lodge is located at The University of Canberra’s Bruce Campus, a few minute’s drive from Canberra’s city
centre and the Belconnen Westfield shopping centre.
The project consists of two buildings, one of eight stories, and the other four stories, connected by bridge links on
four levels. Both buildings will be home to 417 students at the University of Canberra. Cooper Lodge is a mixture of
267 single occupant studios and 30 five bedroom apartments. The project also includes an undercover secure area for
bikes and motorcycles.
The ground floor of both the interconnecting buildings will provide convenient commercial and retail space for the
students. This includes a cafe, bakery, restaurant, supermarket, bar, University Student Services and a clothing store.
PBS’s project team have carefully designed and styled each room with a modern feel whilst managing to provide an
energy efficient, environmentally friendly and cost effective building. Cooper Lodge has been designed to meet the
requirements of a 5 Star Green-Star rating.
The project was completed in January 2014 on time and within budget.
