Beresford Hall

Beresford-Hall

Project Detail

The Design & Construction of Beresford Hall, an 80 bed aged health care project at Rose Bay was completed in October 2011. It is unique, luxury harbour front development offering residents the latest in health and wellbeing including a hydrotherapy/lap pool, Arjo bath, sauna, gym, and beauty, therapy and hair salons. The project also includes a modern dining area, theatre, function facilities, and commercial laundry and kitchen.

Working within the tight constraints of the boundary to boundary site, the team developed complex traffic and material handling solutions taking into consideration concerns of the sensitive community area. Detailed methodology and plans were required to be developed & implemented for approval of anchoring, de-watering & traffic measures from relevant authorities including RTA, Council, Department of Water and Energy and adjoining land owners.

To service the lower basement the project includes two car lifts and a tanked basement retention system with 2 levels below the harbour water table. PBS instigated an alternative design solution for the substructure which involved a 17m deep Cutter Soil Mix (CSM) wall, extensive anchoring and spear point de-watering. This 100t Liebher rig complete with Tec CSM and concrete batching plant can grout inject 2.8m long, 600 wide up to 31m deep panels that are alternated and interlocked as with a Secant wall.

Beresford Hall is a licensed facility with certification under the Commonwealth Aged Care Instrument.
